Last year, Yo Gotti released his debut album, Live From the Kitchen. Even the biggest fans of Yo Gotti would have a hard time realizing that. While they may remember the project dropping, they may not have realized it was Yo Gotti’s debut album. Yo Gotti is a mixtape legend.
When it comes to the mixtape releases, Yo Gotti is in rare company. Few rappers have been able to consistently put out as many independent projects as Yo Gotti and make the kind of money he has from it. This money is part of the reason it has taken Yo Gotti so long to get an album out.
L.A. Reid recognized Yo Gotti’s hustle and signed him to Epic Records this year, creating a partnership for CMG. Yo Gotti paid a visit to The Source recently and he spoke on this new deal. In the interview, Yo Gotti went on to reveal he has a new album he is working on, I Am.
