Aside from all of the sextape drama, Young Dolph also had a pretty eventful week. The Memphis rapper put in tons of work, over the years, and finally broke through in 2016. He broke through with “Get Paid” and the song has become an anthem for the teenagers and young adults.
Those early adult years are some of the roughest financial years, so they are all about getting paid. Heck, even the older people are all about getting paid, because finances are a pain and a half. But, some kids, working at a Duke University cafe got fired over the song.
It was ironic that a Duke VP would hear “Get Paid,” in the first place, and even worse that those kids lost their jobs over it. As soon as this news hit Young Dolph, he spoke out. But, he literally put his money where his mouth is, bringing them onstage with him, after flying them to his show, to give them $20,000, apiece, to hold them over, until they find their next jobs, and then performed his breakthrough single.
