Young Thug releases “Tha Carter VI” artwork, reveals release date

In 2013, Young Thug emerged as a prominent mixtape rapper alongside mixtape king, Gucci Mane. The Atlanta rapper did well with several releases and the Gucci co-sign went a long way. His single, “Stoner,” ended up taking over the radio and Birdman was in the picture.

Birdman began hanging out with Young Thug and Young Scooter early in 2014. There were many hints about him signing both artists to his infamous label, Cash Money Records. Young Scooter was replaced like Rich Homie Quan, but it ended up being a management deal.

Young Thug joined the Cash Money Records family and immediately sang praises of Lil Wayne, who was retiring at the time. He said his plans were to name his album Tha Carter VI to keep the series going, but between the announcement and the release, Lil Wayne fell out with Birdman over Tha Carter V delayed release. Now, Young Thug released the artwork and release date for his album on Instagram and its due before Wayne’s album.
