Off top, a lot of people may not know who The Staple Sisters are, but they for sure know their music. These ladies rose to fame, during the 1970s, making plenty of hit records. Actually, they began as a gospel group, until their single, “I’ll Take You There,” became a crossover hit.

In more recent years, The Staple Sisters, particularly Mavis, have gone around performing their old hits. The group, as a whole, have performed at award shows, in later years. But, with the father, and the other sister dead, it left Mavis alone.

Now, Yvonne Staples has died, so Mavis is the only living member of the group. Yvonne Staples was 80 years old and she died in her Chicago home. The cause of death was not revealed.
