Every Wednesday, Hip Hop Vibe is dedicated to giving people a trip down memory lane. Recent weeks have seen music from the past decade being highlighed, but the decision was made to go further back. With this, Chaka Khan was revisited.
In 1983, Chaka Khan teamed up with the group, Rufus, for the “Ain’t Nobody” single. The song is a bonus track off their live album, Stompin’ At The Savoy, which dropped in November 1983. Upon its release, the song immediately became a hit.
“Ain’t Nobody” ended up peaking at number twenty-two on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the R&B chart. The song is still known to get bodies moving thirty-one years after its release. This made it an easy decision to make it this week’s Wednesday Throwback.
