James Harden has words with Doc Rivers after missing clutch free throws
Last night, the Philadelphia 76ers imploded at home vs the Raptors. The Philadelphia 76ers have played well for most of the season. When they traded for James Harden, the Sixers were expected to contend for the first seed. After a hot start, together, the Sixers have cooled off. They were holding the third seed, before the trade. Briefly, the moved up to the second seed. The Milwaukee Bucks have pushed James Harden and Joel Embiid back to third.
James Harden has come in and played well with the Sixers. Being a midseason addition, the chemistry is still building. Some nights, the Sixers have it, and some nights they don’t. Down the stretch, against the Raptors, Philly didn’t have it. On offense, James Harden had a huge malfunction, which ended up costing the Sixers the game. Before that, James Harden had another situation which equally cost the Sixers the game.
At the free throw line, James Harden missed two free throws late. After that sequence, Doc Rivers called a timeout. From the way it looks, Doc Rivers tried to tell James Harden something about the play. Harden definitely came to the bench having words. He would give a dismissive look in Doc Rivers’ direction. In the end, the Philadelphia 76ers took a tough home loss to the Toronto Raptors, which may cost them when it comes to playoff seeding.
