Entering this season, James Harden expected to compete for a title. Instead, James Harden played for the Nets until the All-Star Game. The Philadelphia 76ers, meanwhile, had unfinished business from the previous season. Philly should have been solely focused on avenging the Hawks upset. Instead, the Sixers had to contend with Ben Simmons refusing to play. Brooklyn struggling and Ben Simmons quitting on the Sixers led to a trade with James Harden.
Initially, fans said the Sixers and Nets both won the trade. However, James Harden has played and turned some fans off. Whether it’s fair or not, James Harden has been accused of costing the Sixers some wins. Originally, Sixer fans said James Harden and Joel Embiid would be the new Kobe and Shaq. Whatever Harden and Embiid will be is ultimately the first of its own kind. If James Harden and Joel Embiid win championships, they will have done it their way. Even if Harden and Embiid don’t win, they tried.
At the end of the Sixers’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, James Harden tried. James Harden made things impossible on Lauri Markkanen. Harden shoved him and pulled on his jersey while trying to get open. When Harden caught the inbounds pass, he immediately drew a foul on him. This left the Cavs upset, as the Sixers got the close win in Philly.
