Joel Embiid curses at the ref after getting technical foul
In December, Joel Embiid put the Philadelphia 76ers on his back, and got the team on track. Last season, the Sixers had the best record in the Eastern Conference. However, the Sixers wound up getting upset by Trae Young’s Atlanta Hawks in the second round, losing Game 7. Many people blamed Ben Simmons for the loss and even Doc Rivers called him out.
Ben Simmons refused to report for training camp, this season, precipitating the Sixers’ slow start. This season, the Sixers didn’t have the best start to the season. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls took the East by storm, as did the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, the season has taken shape, and the Sixers hold the third seed, looking up at DeRozan’s Bulls, and the Miami Heat. The East is rounded out by those three, the Sixers, Bucks, and Celtics.
Last night, the Philadelphia 76ers hosted the New York Knicks, in James Harden’s debut. Early in the game, it looked like the Knicks were going to blow the Sixers out at home. James Harden and Joel Embiid made sure that didn’t happen. Quite the opposite, the Sixers got an easy home win. But, tempers flared, as Joel Embiid went off on the ref, got called for a technical foul, and began cursing, almost getting ejected.
