Kendrick Lamar delivers graduation speech at Compton College
On Friday afternoon, Kendrick Lamar made a surprise appearance in his hometown of Compton. This was done in order to deliver a commencement speech at Compton college, for the class of 2024.
In Kendrick’s speech, he applauded all of the Compton College graduates for the work they’ve put in. Moreover, he continued to emphasize how proud he is to be from Compton, noting how no other city is like Compton, and acknowledged how great God is.
Furthermore, Kendrick Lamar’s commencement speech at Compton College also comes after he announced a concert in Los Angeles, which is set for June 19. This is the “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends” concert, which is presented by Kendrick’s PgLang record label, and Free Lunch.
The past month has been a legendary one for Kendrick, as he’s trended for four Drake diss tracks, which were all released in the first week of May. “Not Like Us” went on to be the biggest one, which went on to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s the fastest song in 2024 to go gold in less than five days, and is also now platinum.
