Klay Thompson walks past Chris Paul without shaking his hand
Clearly, the Golden State Warriors are frustrated, because they can’t stay healthy. The Warriors waited three years for Klay Thompson to return. Finally, the Warriors got back to winning, starting this season 25-6. Days before Klay Thompson returned, Draymond Green went down with an injury. Once Draymond Green was back, Stephen Curry got hurt. While the Warriors have struggled, the Phoenix Suns have dominated.
Devin Booker has played with the Phoenix Suns since 2015. Through most of those seasons, Booker was a great player on a bad team. The Suns were consistently one of the NBA’s worst teams. In 2017, Devin Booker scored 70 points, as the Suns took a blowout loss to the Boston Celtics. During Booker’s first three years, the Suns won between 21 and 24 games. Then, 2019 saw the Suns go 19-63. The 2020 bubble saw the Suns come together, winning eight straight games.
Adding Chris Paul led to the Suns becoming contenders. Devin Booker and Chris Paul led the Suns to the equivalent of a 58-24 record in 2021. They made the NBA Finals, losing in Game 6 to the Bucks. This year, the Suns tied a franchise record with 62 wins, after beating the Warriors, last night. As the game was ending, Klay Thompson walked in front of Chris Paul. Paul grabbed Thompson, who kept walking, not acknowledging CP3.
