Expectations were high for the Brooklyn Nets, this season. However, the Nets had their fair share of challenges, too. Kyrie Irving refused to get vaccinated, which meant he wasn’t allowed to play in Brooklyn home games. New York City had a vaccine mandate for workers, so Kyrie Irving missed most of the season. Still, having James Harden and Kevin Durant, the Nets got off to a solid start.

Early in the season, James Harden and Kevin Durant led the Nets to the East’s best record. So, the Nets wouldn’t be able to hold onto the top spot. Nearly every team, including the Wizards, held the East’s best record early. However, as the season took form, the Miami Heat established themselves as the East’s top seed. It took all season, but the East shook out with the Celtics, Bucks, Sixers, Raptors, Nets, Cavaliers, Hawks, and Hornets making the postseason.

Brooklyn had a season of upheaval, including an eleven game winning streak undoing their work. This led to them falling into the play-in. Thankfully, they won out, as they had matchup problems with the Hawks and Hornets. Tonight, the Nets hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers, and beat them. Darius Garland took a hit from Goran Dragic. Kyrie helped him up, as the Nets will go onto play the Celtics in the first round. The Cavaliers get one more shot, facing the winner of the Hawks/Hornets game.
