LaMelo Ball hits game-winner vs Bucks
Historically, the Charlotte Hornets have played well against the Milwaukee Bucks. But, when Giannis took that superstar turn, and the Bucks became a 60-win team, they racked up wins against the Hornets. Two years after the Bucks’ impressive jump, the Hornets now have a solid franchise player. This season, LaMelo Ball has shown the potential to be a superstar, in the NBA.
Early in the season, Ball and Miles Bridges formed a powerful duo. The Hornets got off to a franchise-best 3-0 start, including a 111-95 win over the Brooklyn Nets. During that win, Bridges had an impressive 360 dunk. After that hot start, the Hornets came back down to Earth, but they have remained a good team. This season, they have wins over the Warriors and Nets.
Perhaps more important than this, the Charlotte Hornets have gone 2-1 against the Milwaukee Bucks, this season. Despite being overshadowed by the Warriors, Suns, and Grizzlies out West and the Bulls and Nets, in the East, the Bucks are the defending champions. Aside from this, the Bucks are still a good team, and came into tonight’s game at 26-16.
LaMelo Ball put forth an effort to make sure Milwaukee left Charlotte at 26-17. They began the Charlotte stretch 26-15. The Hornets, though, had to redeem themselves for taking those consecutive home losses, against the Sixers. After dominating the Bucks, two nights ago, the Hornets played a closer game, tonight. Blowing their big lead, LaMelo came through in the clutch with what would become the game-winning shot.
