Trae Young scores 56 vs. Trail Blazers | Hawks at Trail Blazers [VIDEO]

Watch Trae Young score 56 points vs Portland Trail Blazers

Last night, the Atlanta Hawks took a tough loss at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers. But, no one can blame the loss on Trae Young. Despite the loss, Trae had the biggest game of his career. He scored 56 points in the match, but the Hawks came up short. In the loss, Trae Young scored the second-most points in a game for a Hawks player. Literally, he was one bucket short of the franchise record.

Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks on a Cinderella run, last season. In the playoffs, they upset the Knicks and top seeded 76ers, before losing to the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks. Even there, Trae Young was fearless, going right at Giannis Antetokounmpo. Since 2015, Giannis has consistently proven to be one of the NBA’s best players. At the same time, Trae is letting it be known he’s up there, too.

Despite the Hawks’ success, last season, they have struggled this year. Currently, the Hawks sit at 16-20, following last night’s loss. The season has also been a struggle for the Portland Trail Blazers, who haven’t missed the playoffs since Damian Lillard joined the team. But, in the decade he’s been on the team, the Blazers have not made the NBA Finals, only making the Conference Finals once, being swept by the Warriors.

Last night’s win brought the Blazers up to 14-22, which is still far out of the play-in.
