Last year, Yung Bleu proved himself to be a force in the game. After years of putting in work, Yung Bleu broke through with “You Mines Still,” with Drake, at the end of 2020. Yung Bleu rode that momentum into last year, where he proved he could be a star. How Yung Bleu proved his potential was when he landed Ne-Yo for a feature. The two teamed up for “Stay Down,” which became a breakthrough hit single for Yung Bleu.

Ne-Yo, meanwhile, is a veteran in the game. A songwriter responsible for Mario’s “Let Me Love You,” Ne-Yo decided to launch his own career a year later. While his first single came and went, Ne-Yo established himself as a star with “So Sick.” Little did most realize that this would be the start of a strong three year run for Ne-Yo. From 2006 through 2008, Ne-Yo released such hits as “When You’re Mad,” “Sexy Love,” “All Because of You,” “Do You,” “Closer,” “Miss Independent,” and “She Got Her Own.”

In later years, Ne-Yo has gone through what happens with artists. He’s faded from the spotlight, as other artists have emerged. This new landscape has guys like Yung Bleu out here winning. Even though Yung Bleu is hot now, the stamp from Ne-Yo makes him stand out among his peers. After Ne-Yo put him on his single, Yung Bleu returned the favor. The two have delivered “Walk Through Fire,” where they recount heartbreak, and Yung Bleu saves his lady in the video.
