Mixtapes were made popular by such figures as Joe Budden, Memphis Bleek, Lil Wayne, and J-Hood, among others. But, Drake defined the mixtape as it is currently known with So Far Gone. The trend has continued and has been adapted by many of the biggest artists in the game. Wale was expected to take over the game in 2009, but this was delayed until 2011. Better late than never, Wale has continued his run into 2013, with his “Bad” song with Tiara Thomas being used as the next single from him.
