Like him or not, Lil Wayne remains one of hip hop’s biggest fixtures. As great as 2012 was for hip hop, one thing missing was a Lil Wayne album. Lil Wayne continued his run releasing countless singles, but did not put out that annual album. This came despite the frequent interviews about I Am Not a Human Being 2.

Last spring, Lil Wayne talked to MTV News and he announced a new album he had in the works. Questioning if it would ever be released or not, Lil Wayne revealed the album would be called Devol. Those wondering what Devol means, it is “Loved” spelled backwards.

Yesterday, Sway Calloway was in Miami filming MTV’s “RapFix Live” with the entire roster of Cash Money Records. Talking about a wide range of topics, Lil Wayne spoke on his upcoming albums. During the interview, Sway Calloway asked Lil Wayne for an update on the Devol album and he confirmed it definitely will be coming in the near future.
