Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer
Even though New York hip hop is still in a dire state, Kendrick Lamar calling himself the King of New York has gotten the hip hop world angry. Opinions from everyone who ever picked up a microphone have come in the few hours this story has been circulating. Still, the question remains who the king of New York is.
As is the case with Jay-Z, Diddy is a little bit bigger than rap and therefore not eligible for the continued King of New York debate. Plus, Diddy was never as serious of a rapper as a lot of the other emcees in this debate are. Still, Diddy is Harlem bred and behind some of New York’s biggest stars.
50 Cent sided with Kendrick Lamar in his Instagram post. A few memes have been leaked to the internet clowning Kendrick Lamar over his lyrics. Diddy is the latest person to leak a meme taking to his Instagram to depict a photo of himself and Jay-Z laughing at a game.
