One of the most-explosive rappers to come out this year was Rich Homie Quan. A major mixtape rapper from Atlanta, Rich Homie Quan had a huge buzz already, but everything became much bigger with “Type of Way.” The song came out and became one of the biggest songs of the summer.
In several rounds of interviews, Rich Homie Quan spoke about the possibility of signing a record deal. He is a member of Gold Gang with Trinidad James and this is the only label he has said he needed. Rich Homie Quan is an independent artist and he said he feels like he does not need the support of the labels.
But, all indicators suggest Rich Homie Quan is signed to Def Jam. Yesterday, 2 Chainz released the track listing for B.O.A.T.S. II and Rich Homie Quan is on it. “Type of Way” is on iTunes on Def Jam’s account and they have tweeted for people to download the song and he is apparently on their roster.
