Battle rapper, Charron, airs out BET on Facebook for discrimination

CharronIt all started last summer when Canibus pulled a notepad out in the middle of his battle, but battle rapping has made a strong comeback. Battle rapping made a strong comeback and Loaded Lux changed the game with his “you gon get this work” line in the middle of his battle. BET took notice and they incorporated it into “106 & Park.”

Hip hop music is not as big of a focus on BET as it once was, but it still has its place on the channel. But, because they primarily a channel catering to a racial demographic, lines become crossed at times. Charron is a battle rapper from Canada and he won BET’s “Freestyle Friday,” but he doesn’t fit the network demographic.

Not fitting the network demographic is why Charron feels he was cut from the cypher at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. Charron is a battler at heart and he is not taking the situation lying down. In response to him being cut, Charron addressed BET on his fan page on Facebook.
