Troy Ave talks “New York City: The Album” with “The Breakfast Club” [VIDEO]

Troy Ave Breakfast ClubIt’s really hard to deny New York made a strong comeback in hip hop, but it’s pretty hard to say who is the leader of their new school. Ever since he first gained attention, Troy Ave has said he is that guy. At a time when a lot of other New York rappers came up short, Troy Ave released New York City: The Album.

Troy Ave dropped his project this week and it was clear he is inspired by several eras of hip hop. His sense of style wreaks of the early 1990s golden era and his inspiration is shamelessly mixtape 50 Cent. Tony Yayo even makes an appearance on the new project, as does Raekwon and N.O.R.E.

“The Breakfast Club” recently sat down with Troy Ave and he spoke on New York City: The Album. The album title, itself, pretty much says what Troy Ave has planned to do to the game. In the interview, Troy Ave broke down the album and him being an independent artist.
