It was shocking to wake up and discover Doe B died this morning and it was even worse when the circumstances were revealed. Definitely, Doe B had a major upswing with his music and the future looked bright for him. Doe B was breaking into the game alongside DJ Frank White with the support of many.

T.I. signed Doe B to Grand Hustle Records and he soon had a deal with Interscope and also the support of Juicy J. Together, the three put together Doe B’s breakout single, “Let Me Find Out.” The song originally appeared on one of Doe B’s earlier mixtapes.

While Doe B was relatively new to the mainstream circuit, Montgomery, Alabama knew exactly who he was. Over the past couple of years, Doe B had been putting on for his city and working with DJ Frank White, getting his music out. In honor of Doe B’s life and career, Hip Hop Vibe has decided to look back at his previous work and he also had his Definition of a Trapper 3 mixtape coming in March.

Back in 2011, Doe B began his journey that led to him to the Grand Hustle team, but these were humbler times. When his star first began rising, Doe B teamed up with fellow Alabama hip hopper, DJ Frank White. The two first came together for the Definition of a Trapper mixtape.

When Definition of a Trapper came out, Doe B was a relatively unknown, but he had some future stars on the project. In 2011, Future was one of the biggest up-and-comers in the game. Future appeared on the “Made of Money” record that became a viral success, getting Doe B’s name out there.

In the end, Future went on to close 2011 as one of the biggest breakout artists in the game. But, Doe B’s time was yet to come, although he had a lot of support for his Definition of a Trapper mixtape. This mixtape set the tone for Doe B’s future run in the game.

Once Doe B dropped the original Definition of a Trapper, he gained national attention. Soon, Doe B took it to the next level and he began working on the sequel, Definition of a Trapper 2. With this mixtape, Doe B delivered plenty of singles and music videos.

Definition of a Trapper 2 boasted appearances from Eldorado Red, Boston George, Sunny Cash, Tasha Catour, Jr. Boss, M.O.P., and more. Once again, Doe B turned to DJ Frank White to host the mixtape. The project had a lot of star power from the mixtape stars on the mixtape.

It would be Definition of a Trapper 2 where the original version of “Let Me Find Out” would reside. This mixtape helped to get Doe B more national attention and soon he would catch the attention of T.I. and a resurgent Juicy J, at the time riding the success of “Bands a Make Her Dance.”

Late in 2012, Doe B joined forces with T.I. and Juicy J for the “Let Me Find Out” remix and he began associating with Grand Hustle Records. Soon, Doe B became a part of the movement and it heightened what he had been doing over the past year and a half. Getting consistent shows booked, things came together for Doe B.

Doe B soon released Trap Life, deviating from the Definition of a Trapper mixtape series. Even with Doe B’s career taking off, he remained beside his DJ/partner/manager, DJ Frank White. Together, they did Trap Life with DJ Scream hosting the mixtape.

Trap Life dropped late in 2012 and featured appearances from Jr. Boss, Boston George, and Eldorado Red. Singles off the mixtape included the “Scary” single featuring the aforementioned Boston George and “The Introduction.” At this time, Doe B became one of the hottest underground talents in the game making mainstream moves.
