Back in 1980, Michael Bivins rose to fame as the founding member of New Edition. But, when he left the group, Michael Bivins became the ‘Biv’ in Bell Biv Devoe. They were behind the hit single, “Poison,” off the album of the same name.
Michael Bivins went onto have success as a solo artist and a music mogul. He had roles with Diddy on “Making The Band,” as a manager. Also, Michael Bivins had his Biv10 Records label, under Universal, that was home to Boyz II Men, and many others.
Recently, Hip Hop Vibe caught up with Michael Bivins at the 2014 Global Spin Awards. He gave us a short interview and he discussed why he attended the show, showing love to the DJs, some of which are his friends. Michael Bivins also revealed his new company, Sporty Rich Enterprises, the new continuation of Biv10 Records.
