Holding it down on Power 105.1 and Shade 45, DJ Self is one of the biggest forces on the hip hop scene in New York City. Outside of the radio, DJ Self is a beast on the mixtape scene and regarded as a legend. Thanks to recent innovations, such as the Global Spin Awards, his legacy can be recognized.
DJ Self was present at the 2014 Global Spin Awards and he was front and center on the red carpet. Definitely “gwinnin,” DJ Self had a gold blazer on, as he took in the show, which was star-studded. This was definitely a great moment for DJs, for New York, and obviously for hip hop.
Hip Hop Vibe talked to DJ Self, briefly, on the red carpet and he discussed what it means for him to be here at an event like this. The photo evidences how happy DJ Self was to be there, the smile is authentic. As only DJ Self can say, he gave his trademark line, “gwinnin,” and he said the show is monumental.
