Hard to believe it’s been close to twenty years since DMX emerged on the scene, alongside Jay-Z and Ja Rule. While Jay-Z moved on to super mogul status, DMX and Ja Rule have suffered and did prison stints. Both released new albums to minimal fan fare, but neither are giving up.
Last summer, Ja Rule talked to Hip Hop Vibe about the album he has planned for 2015. Meanwhile, DMX took time away from the spotlight to work on his new album. Redemption of the Beast is the name of the album, which is due next week.
DMX has joined a large number of hip hop artists, who have opted to release surprise albums in recent years. His upcoming album will come complete with sixteen new tracks, featuring a guest appearance from Freeway, among others. The release date is January 13 and the album artwork and track listing is out now.
