Definitely, Morris Chestnut has come a long way since he and Ice Cube were Doughboy and Ricky. While his former brother broke box office records, Morris Chestnut is the star of the hottest new show on television. “Rosewood” is the lead-in to “Empire” and it is doing well.

A medical/cop drama, “Rosewood” stars Morris Chestnut playing alongside Jaina Lee Ortiz. Leading into “Empire” has created stellar ratings for “Rosewood.” The show is averaging 7.3 million total viewers, which is obviously a ratings success.

FOX is paying attention to the success of their new series. Now, since they have “Rosewood” and “Empire,” which stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, they dominate Wednesday nights. Noting the “Rosewood” success, the series has now received a full season pickup from FOX, as it generates 9.1 million total viewers, counting streaming.
