Five years ago, August Alsina was on his way to being one of the biggest R&B artists in the game. His debut album, ‘Testimony‘ was released in 2014 as well and the singles ‘I Luv This S*it” featuring Trinidad James and ‘Numb” feat. B.o.B and Yo Gotti put him on the map. Due to ongoing health issues where he recently said he has a liver disease where his autoimmune system is fighting against itself, his music career has been experiencing numerous setbacks. His recent album is ‘This Thing Called Life‘ which was released in 2015.
Alsina was supposed to be at an event at Essence Fest in his hometown of New Orleans this past weekend but he couldn’t make it due to health issues again. Alsina took to Instagram while in the hospital to say that he woke up one day and wasn’t able to walk. He added that when he got to the hospital, nerve damage was found and his immune system wasn’t functioning properly.
Alsina has been in good spirits though as he said in the IG post saying that he apologized for missing the Essence Fest event and that his autoimmune disease is raging but he’s going to keep fighting.

It’s good to see Alsina have such a positive attitude and having faith in this situation. Hopefully we all get to hear the new music he said he has in store for the people soon. He’s definitely one of the most talented artists out. Check out him addressing his health from the hospital below.
