Many are declaring today #BlackOutTuesday. This is a sentiment that is understood by the HHV team. But any day of silence is one day too many. People need to be fully aware of what they are up against, in their day-to-day. They need to know how people feel about them.
The backdrop of the protests, which have produced the rioting, and the looting is George Floyd being murdered by the police, in Minneapolis. It is a battle cry for police reform. Many seem more outraged that buildings are being destroyed.
Jay LeBlanc is a Louisiana businessman, owner of the Taco Bell franchise, in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He commented on a post by a man, named Matt Lorenzo, who explained why the protests stopped being peaceful. LeBlanc angered many, commenting that the protesters are “animals,” that he wants shot in the street, and lays the blame on the protests for being held in “Democrat cities.”
