Atlanta mainstays, T.I. and Young Jeezy were missing throughout 2010, but there were two new rappers to emerge, B.o.B. and Waka Flocka Flame. While both rappers are from Atlanta, they present two different styles. Over the past two years, the two rappers have coexisted, but have yet to cross paths.
This is all set to change, as the two recently collaborated on the “Fist Pump” single, which will appear on both rappers’ sophomore albums. The collaboration has become one of the favorites on the internet, without being released. With the track gaining popularity, B.o.B. sat down with XXL to discuss the track.
During his interview with XXL, B.o.B. said the song is so monstrous, he actually hurt his hand making the record. The song is to continue B.o.B.’s genre-fusing style, presented on the “Strange Clouds” single. B.o.B. revealed to XXL the collaboration with Waka Flocka Flame started as a joke about the two wanting to make a fist-pump song, soon the single was born.
