A legend on the West Coast hip hop scene, DJ Quik opened doors for the current artists to do what they do. Coming up alongside the likes of NWA and Compton’s Most Wanted, DJ Quik helped make gangsta rap famous. Now, his legacy is being documented.
TV One is celebrating black music month by finally giving hip hop a decent look on their network. Never known for showing music videos, they are doing an “Unsung” episode on DJ Quik. Immediately following this is Jay Z’s documentary.
DJ Quik stopped by Big Boy’s morning show on Real 92.3, this morning, to speak on this. A creator of music, DJ Quik talked about the different roles he has played in the industry, creating music, before speaking on his “Unsung” episode. He went onto discuss his plans for Father’s Day and much more.
