A couple of years ago, Joey Bada$$ was one of the hottest rising rappers in the game. Due to him being from New York City, many felt like he’d become the next major star in the game. Even Jay Z tried to sign him to a deal with Roc Nation, which Joey turned down.
When Joey Bada$$ discussed turning Jay Z down, he said he told him he did it in order to build his own Roc Nation, one day. Still a very young star, Joey Bada$$ saw his buzz die down. But, he’s been very hot over the past few months.
Joey Bada$$ is making his rounds in promotion of All AmeriKKKan Bada$$, his newest album. This journey led him to Hot 97, where he spoke with Ebro, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg. During the interview, he spoke on the album, how he almost quit rap, and his issues with New York City radio.
