DJ Mustard Comes To Ella Mai’s Defense By Saying She Didn’t Get Jacquees’ Remix Of ‘Trip’ Taken Off Streaming Outlets; Says Jacquees Stole From 10 Summers Label

Jacquees’ own remix of Ella Mai’s hit single ‘Trip’ has been met with the approval of many fans but is now bringing controversy as it is being taken off of streaming sites and it has been speculated that Mai herself did it. DJ Mustard helped put Mai on with his 10 Summers label and took to Twitter to address the situation.
Mustard said that he wants to address this one time and one time only. He went on to say that he’s tiring of people picking on Mai when she did no wrong. Mustard noted the importance of the fact that artists don’t send cease and desists, people behind the label do.
Mustard said that Jacquees monetized content that he doesn’t own (Trip) and that is stealing from 10 Summers. He added that Mai had no say in this situation and anybody saying otherwise is lying.
It’s a crazy situation but I’m surprised that Jacquees wasn’t considered for the official remix in the first place. The original version continues to climb the charts so it might have been to early to want to start a remix. Jacquees has since claimed that he only put his Trip remix on YouTube and SoundCloud with no intentions of trying to profit off of Mai and her record.
