Tory Lanez Will Reportedly Go Through a Live Testimony, in Megan Thee Stallion Felony Assault Case, After Failing to Reach Plea Deal

Tory Lanez is still dealing with his felony assault case, from July 2020. This involves him allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion, in her foot, with a semiautomatic gun.

The Toronto rapper has reportedly failed to reach a plea deal, and will appear at a live testimony, on December 14, according to Rolling Stone. This was announced after “meaningful discussions,” with prosecutors. Lanez’s defense attorney, Shawn Holley, appeared on his behalf, on Wednesday, in a Los Angeles courtroom.

“As in every case, the lawyers for the parties discuss the possibility of resolving the case, said Holley to Rolling Stone. “This case is no different. That said, our position as to what did and did not happen in this matter remains unchanged.”

Deputy District Attorney, Keith Ta, added that he is expecting Lanez to testify, for 90 minutes. This will determine if the next step is to head to trial.

Prosecutors initially claimed last October that Lanez inflicted “great bodily injury” to Megan. The charges on the table against Lanez are felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Lanez faces 22 years and eight months in prison, if convicted.

This summer, prosecutors also wanted Lanez’s bail revoked, due to him violating a protective order, which stated he couldn’t be 100 feet near Megan. That happened, after he performed with DaBaby, at the Rolling Loud festival, in Miami. Lanez ended up having to pay an additional $60,000, as the bail went from $190,000-$250,000.
