Yo Gotti says 50 Cent told him to change CMG label name 

Yo Gotti is known as one of the greatest southern rappers, of all-time. Over the past five yeras, Gotti has also been building a name for himself, as one of the best label bosses out. He has his CMG record label, which is home to artists such as Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, Blac Youngsta, EST Gee, and newly signed stars such as Lehla Samia and Mozzy.

Gotti and his CMG record label also appeared on a new Billboard magazine cover this week, to discuss their success. Dugg wasn’t on the cover, due to his recent arrest by the feds, for failing to turn himself in for a 2020 gun case.

In this Billboard cover story, Gotti revealed that he changed what his CMG label stood, for off the advice of 50 Cent. It used to be Cocaine Muzik Group for many years, but now, it’s Collective Music Group. 50 was telling Gotti how the Cocaine part wouldn’t benefit him to get to higher levels.

“Yo, you’re winning, but you can’t be Cocaine Muzik Group — that’s too harsh,” said 50, according to Gotti. They’re going to be scared of that.” 

Yo Gotti’s final studio album came in February, with “CM10: Free Game.” Gotti brought on Mozzy to CMG that same month, and signed R&B star Lehla Samia, in April.
