Killer Mike detained at Grammys after alleged security altercation
On Sunday night, Killer Mike had a legendary night for himself, at the Grammys. He took home three Grammy wins, in the categories of Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, & Best Rap Performance. Best Rap Performance was for Mike’s “Scientists & Engineers,” which also featured fellow Atlanta natives Future, Andre 3000, and Eryn Allen Kane.
However, videos soon went viral on social media of what appeared to be Killer Mike being arrested inside the Grammy’s host venue, Crypto.com Arena, in Los Angeles, per Chris Gardner of The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, more information regarding Killer Mike’s alleged arrest is now surfacing. According to TMZ, this was actually a situation of being detained. Moreover, this detainment of Mike by police is said to have occurred due to an alleged altercation with a security guard, inside the arena.
Regarding Mike’s Grammy wins, this comes after his “Michael” album dominated in 2023. It debuted at number 58 on the Billboard 200 chart, and contained plenty of star-studded features. These included CeeLo Green, Mozzy, 2 Chainz, Young Nudy, Young Thug, and much more. As a result, fans on social media praised Mike’s lyricism, as this was his first studio album since 2012’s “R.A.P. Music.”
