From 2004 until 2007, B.G. had almost fallen off of the map. He had been forgotten after he had a dispute with Cash Money Records. After he and Juvenile left the label and Lil Wayne stayed, they both began feuding with the rapper. At the time, Wayne was still promoting his “gangsta” image and he and B.G. began a high-profile feud. Because Lil Wayne was populating the mixtape scene and B.G. was not, this had a negative affect on his career.
When Birdman’s sister died late in 2006, B.G. sent his condolences to the Williams family. A few months later, he would extend an olive branch to Lil Wayne. In 2008, more rumors would circulate, including that of a Hot Boyz reunion. During this time, though, Lil Wayne had more than enough on his hands with Tha Carter III. After that project, he was going to jump right into working with Young Money.
However, 2008 did reveal that B.G. had entered a partnership with T.I. and Grand Hustle to release his album, Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood. Just months after he switched over to the label, T.I. had to wrap up his work and prepare for his year in prison. Under new management, the label mishandled B.G.’s project, forcing him to leave the label. For the past few weeks, there have been many rumors surrounding B.G.
The rapper has hinted at a possible return to Cash Money Records and he wants to work with former G-Unit rapper, Young Buck. The past few days have become about B.G. being drawn into the ongoing feud between Young Buck and 50 Cent. Now, moving away from beef, there is one announcement that B.G. is glad to make. He and Lil Boosie will be coming together later this year for an album of their own.
Titled Bad Azz and Gizzle, the project will unite one of the most popular Southern rappers from the old school with one of the most popular rappers from the new school. The project has no confirmed release date, but both rappers have begun recording for it. Also, it is unclear exactly what label will be releasing the project. Lil Boosie is under contract with Warner Bros. and B.G. also has a deal with the label, but he may leave.
If there is anything to all of the Cash Money rumors, they may end up being the label to release this album.
