Mary J. Blige hit with $3.4 million tax lien by IRS

Those who do not directly follow R&B should still be familiar with Mary J. Blige. In addition to her classic albums, Mary J. Blige has sang on hooks from many of the biggest rappers in the game. In the mid-1990s, Mary J. Blige notably sang hooks for Method Man and Jay-Z and is now working with the likes of Drake and Rick Ross.

Recently, Mary J. Blige ran into bad luck and was hit with a $900,000 tax lien. Most people never see that type of money in a lifetime. But, due to her extensive background in the record industry, Mary J. Blige has made much more than that. Now, there are is even more bad luck for the “Queen of hip hop soul.”

In addition to the $900,000 owed in back taxes, Mary J. Blige now owes $3.4 million in back taxes. This lien comes from unpaid and defaulted upon debts from 2009, 2010, and 2011. Those fees combined adds up to $3.4 million and then Mary J. Blige is being sued for $2.2 million.
