Four years ago, LL Cool J released what many thought was his final album. After spending twenty four years with Def Jam, LL Cool J finally decided to end things. But, many hoped LL Cool J would consider a return to the rap game. LL Cool J released a new single for “NCIS,” the series he began starring in during the year of 2008.

When LL Cool J was preparing his Exit 13 album, hip hop was dominated by the “auto-tune” phase. LL Cool J delivered a solid album, but many still felt hip hop was going through an overall decline. In the years since LL Cool J’s departure, many have felt hip hop has continued its decline.

Last month, LL Cool J released his first single since “NCIS.” The single was called “Ratchet,” a phrase which rose to popularity last year. Earlier this month, LL Cool J revealed he was working on his new album, Authentic Hip Hop, which he says is for the “grown and sexy.” This morning, the track listing for the album was released.
