Are the Oklahoma City Thunder the biggest flop of the 2017-2018 season?

This Oklahoma City Thunder season was truly disappointing. Yeah, the team has always invented ways to lose, but this season was just odd. A lot of people expected more from the Thunder, in 2018.
After Kevin Durant left OKC, to join Steph Curry’s Warriors, they won the 2017 championship. Coming off a 67-15 season, the Warriors were favorites to win the title. Injuries have slowed them down, but people expected a team to compete with Golden State, this season.
What the NBA got was a surprisingly strong Houston Rockets, led by a man on a mission, in James Harden. Leading the Rockets to a 65-17 record, he is the clear-cut MVP. He and Chris Paul have formed a duo that few people believed would work.
The sure thing, however, was the Oklahoma City Thunder. They placed the 2017 season MVP, Russell Westbrook, with Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. With the Pacers eager to get something in return for Paul George, they traded him for Victor Oladipo. Many saw that move as lopsided, in OKC’s favor. As the season is over, the Paul George’s Thunder have the same record as Oladipo’s Pacers. The Pacers were expected to contend for last place, not home court in the playoffs.
Losing Kevin Durant, the way he did, most sports fans agreed Russell Westbrook deserved to have a solid team around him. The Thunder went out and added two of the biggest stars in the NBA. Still, all they could come up with was one more win than last season’s 47-35 team. Last year, they lost to Harden’s Rockets, in the first round. This year, it’s a very strong possibility, the 48-34 Thunder lose to Donovan Mitchell’s Utah Jazz, who closed the season 29-5.
With the NBA Playoffs set to start, this weekend, are the Oklahoma City Thunder the biggest flop of the 2017-2018 season?
