Review: TV One – “Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story” #LoveUnderNewManagement #MikiHowardStory

The Miki Howard StoryWith “Unsung,” TV One created a vehicle to shed light on careers the mainstream media overlooked. Almost immediately, “Unsung” became a runaway hit series. Soon, fans were requesting all kinds of episodes, prompting the “Unsung Hollywood” and “Life After” shows.

After covering Miki Howard, TV One decided to go in and do a full, feature-length film. They cast Teyonah Parris, Indira Khan, and Darius McCrary in key roles. Together, they were Miki Howard, Chaka Khan, and Gerald Levert.

Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story is a true story of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. The movie is definitely encompassing and, as previously stated, a great way to spend a Sunday evening. Definitely, it is set to be all of the talk on Monday, as many tiny details were given big spotlights.

What was overlooked, in real life, was the rivalry that was played up between Miki Howard and Whitney Houston. In addition to this, the love Miki Howard had for Gerald Levert was portrayed so deeply, when she fantasized herself back with him, in love, when he actually died in real life. This was raw emotion and fans were thrown for a loop when the Eazy-E scene took place.

TV One did a spectacular job in presenting The Miki Howard Story and the movie is well worth the watch. Stellar acting from all, plus the movie has Miki Howard’s approval, as she was with the cast when they did their rounds with the media. If not for any other reason, give the movie a chance just because we said it is a good movie… laughs, laughs, laughs.
