A lot of people are going to feel old, seeing this song as a throwback track. But, it’s been six years since Kirko Bangz put Houston back on the map. When he came out, Houston was overlooked, and still known, most-recently for the Swishahouse era.
Kirko Bangz changed this, emerging on his own, and going into a situation with Warner. Through this deal, he dropped “Drank In My Cup,” a mixtape track, in 2011. Early in 2012, the song ended up becoming a major radio hit.
Since then, Kirko Bangz has had success in 2014, but has mostly faded from the spotlight. The Houston rapper is currently working on some new music, and he dropped something, earlier this week. But, everybody still knows him best for this track, a club classic.
