Tonight, Queen Latifah makes her return to “Star,” as Carlotta. Early this year, “Star” premiered, in full, and became one of TV’s most-captivating shows. Long before she was ever an actress, the Queen was a groundbreaking femcee.
Queen Latifah is a legend in entertainment, a true force to be reckoned with. She made history, earlier this year, with her Girls’ Trip movie, which was the highest-grossing box office success. But, it was her music that laid the groundwork for her film and TV success.
In light of “Star” returning for season two, tonight, this week’s Wednesday Throwback is dedicated to her. She emerged, back in 1993, with a song about female equality, before starting “Living Single.” The song is “U.N.I.T.Y.” and is taken from Black Reign, her 1993 LP.
