Hip Hop Figures From the Carolinas: Nick Cannon

This week, Hip Hop Vibe has done some features on major figures in the hip hop industry from both North and South Carolina. Seeing how J. Cole is releasing 2014 Forest Hills Drive, his third album, it made sense for us to shed light on the scene. After all, the headquarters of Hip Hop Vibe is in North Carolina.

One North Carolina native who may come as a surprise is Nick Cannon, the man who has introduced several of Hip Hop Vibe’s latest videos. Known as an executive, radio personality, television host, and rapper, Nick Cannon mostly represented San Diego. But, he has also discussed spending parts of his childhood in Kannapolis, outside of Charlotte.

Nick Cannon is arguably the most-interesting figure in urban entertainment from North Carolina. He is a man of many talents and he is back on MTV2 with “Wild ‘N Out” returning last year. This is only a small portion of the things Nick Cannon has in the works, as he released his long-awaited sophomore album earlier this year.
