R. Kelly Hit With Warrant In Minnesota For Not Showing Up To Court For Sex Crimes; Kelly’s Lawyer Says Officials Never Came To Chicago To Get Him For Hearing

R. Kelly is facing sex crimes involving underage girls in Minnesota, Illinois and New York as he’s still in prison with no bond. More problems are arising in the Minnesota case as he was supposed to have hearing today. Kelly didn’t show up and was soon served with a bench warrant, according to TMZ.

The hearing was supposed to take place at Hennepin County Court at 1:30PM. The charges on the table are engaging in prostitution with someone under 18, and hiring/offering/agreeing to hire someone for sexual contact. Kelly is at the MCC Chicago prison but according to his attorney Steven Greenberg, the singer was never notified about being required to go to court.

Greenberg said to TMZ “They never came to get him, wtf was he supposed to do, telepathically transport himself?” The Minnesota D.A.’s Office are saying that federal authorities in the Northern District of Illinois don’t want any access to Kelly until his cases are finally resolved.

Everyone knows Kelly has a sick problem with underage girls but with this situation, this was out of his control. How could he show up to court if he isn’t allowed to or notified. As far as his current prison situation, he’s now in the general population after pleading to not be forced to stay in solitary confinement. Security measures to protect him in the general population are also in place.
