The first three months of this year showed the power of the hip hop culture when “Empire” came to life. Starring film veterans, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, “Empire” is loosely based on the life of Jay-Z. “Empire” centers around an entertainment mogul and his family issues.
In the first season of “Empire,” many stars in entertainment made guest appearances. These appearances included Anthony Hamilton, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Patti LaBelle. For this season, producers from the show have expressed interest in having Eminem and Oprah on.
Without a doubt, Lee Daniels could get Oprah to come on “Empire,” but when it comes to a realistic tone on hip hop, a rapper other than Eminem would be a good fit. Currently, J. Cole is sitting as the hottest rapper in the game, fresh off the first platinum hip hop album with no features in 25 years. As his status in the game gets bigger, with his stake in TIDAL, should J. Cole appear on “Empire?”
