Fun fact: Too $hort is actually the longest-tenured relevant rapper in the game. His debut album was actually released, back in 1983. In 1996, he retired, only to launch his comeback in 1999, a whole decade before another rapper’s high-profile “retirement.”
Too $hort has spawned hit records in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. It’s now the 2020s and he is still going strong. For years, he has had other business interests, outside of making music.
Recently, Too $hort spoke to Hip-HopVibe.com, with Brittney O having the pleasure of speaking with him. In their discussion, he spoke on his longevity in hip hop. With that being stated, he said he likes artists sampling his music, and wants them to keep doing so.
