Toso is from a place that a lot of people overlook, but a truly unique place. Providence, Rhode Island once inspired a television drama. Aside from that, it is one of many beautiful places tucked away in New England. It’s a city not exactly known for its hip hop scene. As a result, Toso decided to pack his bags, and move to Los Angeles to further pursue his dreams. Now, he returns with his single, “Lotta Doe,” which is making some noise.
Toso, like most, grew up listening to hip hop music. All of the legends are the ones who inspired him. A few people on his list of inspirations include Ludacris, Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Eminem, and Jay-Z. However, his approach to some of his records is inspired by J. Cole. It’s safe to say that Toso is a true student of the game. This comes at a time when artists aren’t studying the overall craft. Instead, artists are riding trends, which has sparked the current complaints about the game.
Toso is not like the artists that are currently popular. However, this doesn’t mean that he’s immune to the influence of the game. That said, he has his new single, “Lotta Doe,” which has a title that follows the same usual tropes. However, to actually open this track up and play it, it’s clear “Lotta Doe” has a message to it. The title, within itself, can be motivational, but the people have to really get in there and hear it for themselves.
