Who’s Got Next in Atlanta?

By Hardcore Critic
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Even the rappers in Atlanta will admit the hip hop scene has been on the decline for some time, inspiring T.I. and Young Jeezy to lead a comeback. While their comebacks have been heroic, it will take new blood to bring Atlanta back and keep them relevant. There are a number of artists on the Atlanta hip hop scene, which are reinventing one of hip hop’s meccas.

Many newer artists on the scene are making names for themselves, both in the streets of Atlanta, and on a national scale. Throughout this week, Hip Hop Vibe will count down the number of new artists emerging and building buzz. The rappers included in the list will not only be counted by their local buzz, but also by their national impact.

When Atlanta first rose to the top, not only did their stars cement their legacies in Atlanta, they also had the attention of the entire hip hop scene. Those who want to follow in the footsteps of Andre 3000, Big Boi, Ludacris, Lil Jon, T.I., Young Jeezy, and other legendary Atlanta rappers will have to do the same. Starting today, Hip Hop Vibe will count down five rappers representing Atlanta who are making a name for themselves on the national map.
