Will Ben Simmons lead the Sixers to the NBA Finals in his rookie year?

Trust the process, right? Nobody thought the Philadelphia 76ers would get this good, this fast, but it happened. After the team bottomed out, in 2016, many people commented on how good the Sixers were, on paper, and how Ben Simmons could be the one to make it work.

Ben Simmons got injured in the preseason, last year, so he was back on the shelf, until 2017. When he returned, Philly had Joel Embiid healthy, Markelle Fultz, Marco Belinelli, and JJ Redick. This unit has made for a strong team.

Right now, the Sixers are the only top seed that’s actually getting the job done. Up in the North, the Raptors are proving critics right, who say they overachieved. In Cleveland, the Cavs finally woke up, and will probably put Oladipo’s Pacers to sleep, in six, but Boston’s being exposed by Giannis’ Bucks, right now.

The game that essentially decided who would take the third seed, between the Sixers and Cavs, showed a Philly team that can actually beat LeBron’s crew. Given the struggles of DeRozan and Lowry, closing games, they might very well lose in the first round, or at least go seven, which means Cleveland would likely win the second round. As it looks, right now, the Sixers would easily take out the Celtics or Bucks.

Of course, never count the chickens before they hatch, but could Ben Simmons and company actually do the impossible, and go to the NBA Finals, in his rookie year?
