Ace Hood – “Energy”
Ace Hood drops Energy as the lead single of new EP
Ace Hood has become a hip hop journeyman. Over the years, Ace Hood has proven to be a resilient jack of all trades. Early in his career, Ace Hood was touted as the future of the game. Introduced by DJ Khaled, Ace Hood was the first artist on We The Best. At the time, DJ Khaled was the president of Def Jam South. As a result, Ace Hood was the flagship artist of both We The Best and Def Jam. While Ace Hood got off to a fast start, it did not last.
Ace Hood is actually a native of Deerfield Beach, Florida, in Broward County. However, Ace Hood was promoted as a Miami rapper. Despite all of the marketing behind Ace Hood, his record sales lagged. In 2008 and 2009, Ace Hood released his first two albums. Aside from some moderate radio success, Ace Hood did not perform very well. As a result, in 2010, Ace Hood was back in Deerfield Beach, and he was secretly broke.
Ace Hood turned his career around, in 2011, and “Hustle Hard” became a major hit. In 2013, Ace Hood returned with “Bugatti,” the biggest hit of his career. DJ Khaled left Def Jam for Cash Money Records. As a result, Ace Hood was now signed to We The Best/Cash Money. Birdman was excited to work with Ace Hood. When this deal ended, Ace Hood went solo. Among other things, Ace Hood is now in full control of his music. Recently, Ace dropped “Energy,” the lead single from his B.O.D.Y. EP, which is out this summer.
