Did Drake respond to Kendrick Lamar on “The Language” off “Nothing Was The Same?”
Did Drake diss Kendrick Lamar on The Language?
A month ago, it was all the talk, so let’s not even go back there. Kendrick Lamar challenged the whole rap game on Big Sean’s “Control.” Drake was among the rappers mentioned who never fully offered a response, joining both Fabolous and Game who both had big plans for their respective coasts.
The mention of Drake, a Toronto rapper, makes it clear this thing really isn’t about coasts, it’s about bars. As much as they try to sleep on Drake, he’s got bars for days and his new album, Nothing Was The Same, leaked last night. One song catching a lot of attention is “The Language.”
On the opening line, Drake throws out shots and these include “I don’t know why they lying, but yo shit not that inspiring,” “f*ck any n*gga that’s talkin that sh*t to get a reaction,” “I am the kid with the motormouth, I am the one you should worry about, I don’t know who you referring to, who is that nigga you talkin bout?”
Enough is said on the opening lines in the first verse and it seems like direct shots at Los Angeles’ resident good kid, Kendrick Lamar.
